4 Concealers I’ve Tried & Loved

4 Concealers I’ve Tried & Loved

I must admit that I’m actually still fairly new to concealers as I only bought my first concealer this year! To think of it now, I can’t imagine my life without using it as part of my makeup routine. It’s now become such an important step in making my makeup look flawless all day long.

I’ve recently tried 4 different concealers that work absolute wonders and if you’re currently shopping for a new concealer then keep on reading!

♥ Essence Stay All Day Concealer – R54.95

2n9dymoThis was actually the very first concealer that I bought and from the day I started using it I’ve noticed such a huge difference with the end result of my MOTD. I noticed how it brightened underneath my eyes making me look instantly more awake and it did a good job at covering up imperfections too.

It has a creamy, soft texture which is really easy to apply with a blending sponge.

♥ CATRICE Liquid Camouflage Concealer – R61.95

WTBIMG_7615Okay, okay so I know I’ve already mentioned in this post how much I LOVE this concealer and guess what – I still do! 🙂 It’s still my favorite concealer on the market and out of all the ones that I’ve used before this one still gives the ultimate best coverage. It’s also long-wearing and waterproof as well.

♥ Essence Camouflage Cream Concealer – R54.95

WTBIMG_9284I’m currently using this concealer as my liquid ones have run out so this was the next best thing. I found it to be a bit more difficult to blend into the skin as the texture is definitely thicker. I don’t think it offers better coverage though as the end result is more or less the same and also it doesn’t seem to last as long – meaning it finishes quicker.

What it is great for is neatening up winged eyeliner boo-boos, defining your eyebrows and neatening the area around your lips when you use dark lipsticks.

♥ Essence Pure Nude Concealer – R54.95

WTBIMG_9282The twistable stick format makes for an ideal travel companion and fits perfectly into your handbag or luggage bag. This crayon type concept makes it really easy to apply and it has a creamy, yet slightly powdery texture. I personally didn’t think it gave me as much coverage as the other concealers however it has a lovely lightweight feel to it for those hot summer days.

Thanks for Info Taryn , i am very uneducated when it comes to this but for my skin tone being that ive seen i use toast in most foundation do i need to take a concealer in a darker or lighter shade or something that is close to toast?

      Hi Melissa

I always use a concealer that is a shade or 2 lighter than my foundation as this helps to brighten and highlight points of your face.

    Hi Sameera

Have you tried color correcting concealers? This might work for you.

Any that you would recommend. I also struggle with concealers.

        Hi Raeesa / Sameera

The reason its looking grey might be because your circles are a bit darker and applying a beige concealer over that pulls through as grey… You’ll need to use an orange color correcting concealer to combat this problem. It could also be because your concealer is too light for your skin tone.

I’d suggest the NYX Full Coverage Concealer in Orange or the LA Girl orange color correcting concealer, those are the 2 lower cost ones that I know of but MAC and Bobbi Brown also have them if you’re willing to spend a bit more.

Let me know how it goes xx
