Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

IMG_5842I recently created an online beauty profile with Rubybox which also means that I get to take part in beauty trials and review amazing products like the brand new Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water that nearly every beauty blogger on the planet has been raving about!

It comes as no surprise that I really enjoy using Garnier products, I wrote about my favorites on this blog post. Their products are always so skin-friendly as well as affordable and as we all know – I’m all about beauty on a budget!

I must admit, I was completely new to Micellar Water before Garnier released their own range. I’ve always been the wet-wipes type of gal when I’m feeling a bit too lazy to go through the entire skincare routine, because seriously now, aint nobody got time for that after a night out!

But what is Micellar water exactly? Basically the water contains groups of molecules (micelles). Think of micelles as the dirt magnets of your skin, they effortlessly capture and lift away makeup and impurities from the skin. And this ladies, is what you get when you put science and skincare together and they make a baby 🙂

What’s great about Micellar water is you don’t need to rinse at all as rinsing can sometimes strip your skin of its protective barrier. My first impression about the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water was that the bottles were generously sized – definitely a lot bigger than the other products on the Garnier shelf. It is said on the bottle that you should get about 200 uses per 400ml bottle however I’m not too convinced so I’ll have to see how long it lasts.

IMG_5848IMG_5847The Garnier Micellar water range is available in 2 different types: The pink one is for sensitive skin and the blue one for combination to oily skin. I’ve tried them both and so far they’ve both felt great and definitely no signs of skin irritation. It is really so mild on your skin, it has no scent to it and I’ve also noticed that it tends to turn slightly soapy when applied to your skin. With that being said, your skin is still left feeling smooth and refreshed and I loved that it doesn’t burn your eyes as well.

I must add that you’ll need to use a few more cotton rounds than usual (I used 3 for a complete face cleanse) which is the only downside so you might want to pick up the extra-large cotton rounds which I have seen previously at Clicks stores.

Is this something I’ll be replacing my wet-wipes with? Most definitely! And for just R79.99 this one’s a sure winner which I’m sure will (and probably already has) won over the hearts of many makeup addicts.

Thank you for the review – I enjoy using the Pink Bottle. Which cotton pads are you using? I am using Dis-Chem Softi Premium Cotton Rounds – Its a thick, lint-free, soft pad – it cleanses and exfoiliates (80 rounds for R30). 🙂

I’m glad you’re enjoying it too Reonette! I use the ones from Clicks (stitched around the edges), it’s also under R30 🙂

Cool review. Read it earlier when I was trying to decide what brand of micellar water to try out. Got the newer one (yellow) for dry/sensitive skin. Will have a review up on my blog after I’ve used it for a while. Cheers.

P.S. Very beautiful pics especially with the Nicki Minaj perfume bottles there.

I’m also currently using the yellow one but find that it transfers too much oil onto my skin so might go back to the other two. Thank you – the Nicki perfumes are my fave! ❤️
